COVID-19 Vaccination Programme:

The public can really help the NHS to deliver our vaccination programmes effectively to those who need it most. Taking these simple steps will help us to help you.

  • The NHS will contact you when it’s the right time to come forward, so please don’t contact us to seek a vaccine before then.
  • Please act on your invitation when it arrives, and make sure you attend your appointments when you arrange them.
  • In the meantime, please continue to abide by all the social distancing and hand hygiene guidance, which will still save lives.

The latest information on the COVID-19 vaccination programme is online on the NHS website. Local updates can also be found here.

We advise checking there first if you have questions about the safety or effectiveness of COVID vaccines, or your priority to receive vaccination.

Welcome To The Dr Malik Practice At Kent Elms

This website contains information about the facilities and services at the practice and we hope you will find it helpful. Please consider putting our address into your ‘Favourites’ folder for quick retrieval.

The practice is one of the oldest in Leigh-on-Sea. Established in the early 1940s, originally at King’s Road and Bellhouse Lane, it moved to Kent Elms in 1975. The Health Centre was purchased by the doctors from the Health Authority in 1991, though they continued to use the first floor for running community services until March 2013. Today the ground floor is occupied by three separate GP practices. Dr Malik is one of the GPs running his own surgery.

Kent Elms is a modern, purpose-built building with its own car park. There is access for disabled scooters and prams (which, along with bicycles, may be left in the foyer at the main entrance at the patient’s own risk). There are toilet facilities for both able-bodied and disabled patients at the surgery.

Disabled Access and Parking

There is the facility for disabled car parking in the main car park. There is also wheelchair/pram access entry possible and throughout the building (consulting room, treatment room, waiting area etc). If you are likely to have difficulty in opening the entrance/exit doors, please let us know when you make your appointment and we will do our utmost to assist you.

Dogs

All dogs, with the exception of assistance dogs, should be left outside the building.

Smoking and Food

The building is a non-smoking environment and we request that this stipulation be honoured. We would also request that patients do not eat or drink whilst waiting for their appointments. A cup of water may be obtained from reception request.

Mobile Phones

Please do not use mobile phones within the surgery building. If you are carrying a mobile phone on your person, please ensure it is switched off before your consultation with the doctor or nurse.

Please note that if you have given us your mobile number we will assume that you therefore give us consent to contact you (by call or SMS message) unless you advise us otherwise.

Your health, your way

NHS Choices have created a guide to help patients who are living with long term conditions and provides information on how patients can self-care and looking after themselves in a healthy way. Please visit: http://www.nhs.uk/planners/yourhealth/pages/yourhealth.aspx for information.
