Data Sharing: Health & Social Care Integration in Southend
Southend-on-Sea Borough Council and Southend CCG intend to bring together and share social care data, secondary uses data including hospital record information, and with your permission, GP data. To ‘opt out’ of this new initiative, you should notify us in writing of your wish and we will then ensure the information is not shared. Please note this is separate from the care.data and the summary care record.
We would like to draw your attention to that “once your health data is extracted from the surgery’s system, Southend-on-Sea Borough Council and Southend CCG will become the data controller. The data controller is “a person who (either alone or jointly or in common with other persons) determines the purposes for which and the manner in which any personal data are, or are to be, processed”.
